BLOWNAPART: Napoleon conquers Madonna
Napoleon, many commentators' favourite for the title, proved his credentials with a crushing 86%-14% first round victory over Madonna. Napoleon will take on George Washington in the quarter finals. The pair never met in real life, although Napoleon declared 10 days of national mourning upon Washington's death in 1799.
Pele, fresh from a comfortable win over Adolf Hitler, will likely face a sterner test against Henry VIII in the quarters.
Winston Churchill's 53%-47% victory over John Lennon was the closest contest of the first round. The prime minister's reward is a quarter final against JFK in a battle of the 20th century premiers. That's after Kennedy's first round tryst with Marilyn Monroe failed to live-up to the pre-match billing.
We lost two fan favourites in Princess Diana and Elvis Presley in the first round. Their vanquishers, Gandhi and Einstein, face off in what will be a heavyweight quarter final.
