Dated Wednesday 9/16/1981 Salinger writes to his lover Janet Eagleson.
The original stamped envelope is included in the sale.
Salinger comments on: "A shitty month here, threats from the press..."
He explains his fantasy of running away with Janet: "I see us opening a little clothing store"
And he talks of a road trip he has taken, the first time he has left his home all Summer:
"I just stayed overnight and drove home in the morning"
Even prior to his death Salinger was one of the world's rarest and most valuable autographs.
