Bruce Springsteen auction: signed 'Born to Run' photograph sells at Charitybuzz

The Boss is returning to the auction block, and it's all in the name of a good cause for Charitybuzz.

This is an extremely rare archival IMAGE_of Bruce Springsteen pictured alongside his late friend and band mate Clarence Clemons, saxophonist and one of the most outstanding members of Springsteen's legendary E-Street Band.

Dated to 1975 from the photoshoot for Springsteen's classic Born to Run LP, the image is regarded among collectors and enthusiasts as the most sought-after IMAGE_from the photo session - after the LP's iconic cover shot.

This is a genuine archival print. It was made from the photograph's original negative by photographer Eric Meola, who personally took this IMAGE_for the '75 Born to Run photoshoot.

What's more, this is the "only" print of the artist's proof IMAGE_available in this size - making it truly one-of-a-kind. It has been personally signed by Eric Meola as an artist's proof.

No wonder, then, bids have already climbed to $5,000 for this rare piece. The photograph is expected to sell for $11,000.

Estimated at $11,000, this Born to Run-era photographic proof is the
only one of its kind in the world, signed by photographer Eric Meola

Bids on the rare IMAGE_opened on December 1 and will close later this week, on December 15.

Meanwhile, Clarence Clemons is gone but certainly not forgotten. As always, proceeds from Charitybuzz's sale will go to a good cause: Clemons's charity of choice, HomeSafe.

Clemons was a regular patron of HomeSafe during his lifetime, personally supporting the organisation and hosting its major events. The charity helps victims of child abuse and domestic violence, serving more than 15,000 infants, children and families each year.

Charitybuzz's sale is certainly a worthwhile auction. But, if you can't make the sale - or perhaps your budget doesn't extend to $11,000 - we have an alternative for Springsteen collectors here at Paul Fraser Collectibles.

Among our numerous rare and genuine rock 'n' roll autographs for sale is this 3 x 5 inches autographed card signed by The Boss, Bruce Springsteen, himself. Written in black ink, the signature and card are in fine condition. We have it for sale priced at just £295.

To get an idea of just how coveted Bruce Springsteen's memorabilia is among collectors, you need only look at his past auction sales.

In March of this year, a 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air Convertible once owned by Springsteen sold for $468,000, far above its estimated price of $390,000.

The V8 yellow convertible was hugely important to The Boss. Decorated with orange flames, it was the artist's first vehicle, bought in 1975 for just $2,000 - meaning the classic car's value has significantly increased in that time thanks to its rock 'n' roll provenance.

A signed Springsteen Born to Run album made $2,404 at the same sale. But its value will likely be dwarfed by Charitybuzz's auction of this one-of-a-kind Born to Run photograph.
