Von Menzel's Stehende Rustungen to auction following Nazi restitution

Adolph von Menzel's Stehende Rustungen is to be sold at auction, having recently been returned to the Jewish family of its former owner.

Adele Pachter, wife of a German Jewish art dealer, was forced to sell her private collection by the Nazis

The work, which has been on display in Vienna's Albertina museum for many years, was returned to the heirs of Adele Pachter, widow of German Jewish art dealer Hermann Pachter.

The Berlin-based widow was forced to sell works from her private collection under Nazi rule.

The piece, estimated at $129,388-194,082, will be sold at Berlin's Villa Griesebach on November 26.
