An original unpublished illustration by EH Shepard is valued at £50,000-70,000 ($82,000-114,800) ahead of a December 10 auction at Christie's in London.

The illustration, featuring the iconic characters Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet, appears to have been intended as a frontispiece for a book. It has never appeared on the market before.
Sotheby's will hold an auction on the same day that will feature the earliest known depiction of Pooh sticks, in the form of a pencil sketch valued at £30,000-50,000 ($49,212-82,020).
It is likely that the latter illustration will outperform the first at auction due to its rarity (the majority of Shepard's pencil drawings are in the collection of London's V&A), and its status as one of the most recognisable of all the artist's illustrations.
We have this autographed drawing of Winnie-the-Pooh by EH Shepard for sale.
