Seven John Constable drawings achieve growth of 10% pa

Storm Clouds, a drawing by the artist John Constable, has sold for £44,000 ($73,766) at Cheffins in the UK.

The work was one of a number consigned as separate lots in a sale that took place on March 5-6.

The eight drawings were originally bought in 1952 for just £500 ($835)

Originally, the collection of seven drawings had been bought from London based dealers the Leggatt Brothers in 1952 for a total of £500 ($835).

At this latest sale they sold for a combined total of £185,000 ($310,152), equating to growth of 10.0% pa.
