Norman Rockwell's The Song of Bernadette, one of his most celebrated works, is to highlight Heritage Auctions' Illustration Art sale in Dallas on October 26.
The poster was created as part of a wildly successful publicity campaign for the 1943 film of the same name starring Jennifer Jones.
Ed Jaster, senior vice-president at Heritage, commented: "Rockwell's full-length The Song of Bernadette is considered one of the artist's great works and a true triumph of illustration art as fine art."
"As a wildly popular movie poster, it was among the most reproduced images of Rockwell's entire career and remains so long after the movie won five Academy Awards."
The work sold previously for $478,000 at Heritage in 2005.
Jessie Wilcox Smith's A Child's Prayer carries an estimate of $100,000-150,000. Dating to 1925, the painting was used as the cover for a children's book.
The painting has never been up for sale, having been held in the same collection since it was produced.
A similar painting by Wilcox Smith, Goldilocks, sold for $134,500 at Heritage in 2012.
The record for her work is $310,700, set at Heritage in 2010 for a 1905 illustration for Robert Louis Stevenson's a Child's Book of Verses.
