Native American artefacts announced for March in Montana auction

The annual March in Montana auction, in conjunction with the Coeur d'Alene Art Auction group, has announced its line-up of Native American artefacts to be sold on March 14-16.

The auction contains fantastic Native American textiles, clothing and weaponry, as well as cowboy related items and Wild West-inspired fine art. Highlighting is a selection of Navajo wearing blankets.

At the July 2012 Coeur d'Alene art auction, the war shirt of Chief Joseph sold for $877,500. It is considered one of the most important Native American artefacts ever sold at auction.
