A solo exhibition of works by the Italian artist Amedeo Modigliani (1884-1920) opens at the Tate Modern in London on November 23.  

The show features a comprehensive collection of sculptures and paintings from across his short but celebrated career.

Modigliani's nudes are among the show's highlights 

The highlight will be a group of 12 nudes, the largest number by the artist ever to have been shown in the UK.

This exhibition takes place 100 years after the artist’s single disastrous solo show in Paris in 1917. 

Then the gendarmes turned up, cordoning the gallery to spare the public the affront to decency.

We’re assured there are no such concerns at the Tate.

In 2015, Modigliani’s Nu Couche sold for a Modigliani record $170.4m.
