A Max Kuehne coffee table was among the star lots at Kaminski's Twentieth Century Modern Design & Fine Art Auction yesterday (January 4).
The circa 1930 silver leaf piece, which features Kuehne's typically complex incised decoration, sold within estimate at the Massachusetts auction for $3,750.
Kuehne (1880-1968) was an American painter and craftsman of considerable renown, and incised a vast range of furniture and objects.
An original condition egg chair designed by Arne Jacobsen for Danish design company Fritz Hansen made $1,800, while six circa 1950 dining chairs by Paul McCobb, which he produced for his Planner Group furniture line, achieved $1,700.
Paul Fraser Collectibles will bring you all the key design auction news throughout the year.
