Potter & Potter's next auction, scheduled for May 16, will host the fourth sale of memorabilia from the renowned collection of Jay Marshall, the legendary magician.
Highlights in the auction include memorabilia and posters related to Harry Houdini, apparatus of significant historic association, magic sets, rare books, early posters and broadsides, ephemera and props suitable for all levels of collectors.
The collection will not only offer great items for collectors of memorabilia, but also lovers of rare books, old manuscripts and autographs. Archives of correspondence and large collections and cartons full of vintage ephemera will all go under the hammer.
Props used by famed magicians Buatier de Kolta, Eugene Laurant, Frank Ducrot, Imro Fox, Karl Germain, Jane Thurston, and Fred Kaps are among the sale's predicted highlights.
In particular, Kaps' prop boasts a remarkable provenance - having been used on The Ed Sullivan Show, the night Kaps followed on from The Beatles' first appearance on the programme.
A large scrapbook of material related to famous American illusionist Carl Hertz, rare books dating to the 18th century, and unique posters and early broadsides will also feature.
Potter & Potter's unmissable auction takes place in Chicago, US.
