Michael Perry, the consignor of the work, told the Manchester Evening News: "It's certainly an important piece. Lowry did quite a lot of drawings of Daisy Nook [a country park in Manchester] and they are very well documented, so to have a brand new one come on the market, that has never been sold before, is quite exciting.
"It's very unusual in the sense it has a lot of figures, a very dense crowd, so there is a lot of work in there."
Lowry's work has grown in value in recent years, with his best-known pieces regularly achieving seven figure sums at auction.
