Legendary pop artist Robert Indiana spreads the 'LOVE' in Florida

Days before Andy Warhol appears at Christie's, another preeminent figure in the American Pop Art movement is going under the hammer in Wittlin & Serfer Auctioneers' upcoming Winter Fine Art Sale on January 9.

Appearing for sale is a signed leather bound book, American Dream, by Robert Indiana, whose famous LOVE artwork (pictured top right) remains as iconic as it is ubiquitous.

LOVE is featured in the book, which is dated to 1966 and includes six screen prints. Even better, each print is signed in pencil by Indiana himself at the bottom right.

Described as being in "excellent condition" and measuring 22 x 17 inches, this historic book is pencil numbered from an edition of 395 pieces.

The American Dream could offer a perfect dream for entry-level investors when it goes under the hammer in Sunday's sale, estimated at $8,000-10,000.

Bids are opening at $6,000 with online bidding also available. Wittlin & Serfer's sale will be held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, US.
