Collectors will have the chance to own a unique piece of celebrity artwork in Heritage Auctions' Doodle for Hunger sale on August 19.
|
The auction is being held to raise money for the St Francis Food Pantries and Shelters charity, which provides food, clothing and counselling to America's poorest families. It will feature 100 signed items and original artworks from a range of celebrities, all valued at $100-300.
Currently leading the sale is an autographed photo of Russian tennis star Anna Kournikova, which has already received two bids and is selling at $22.
Also featuring at Heritage is a great signed photograph of Johnny Depp in his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Carribean, which has attracted a bid of just $1 so far. As an official publicity shot from the multi-million dollar franchise, the photograph can expect strong attention.
Among the celebrity doodles on offer is a brilliant crayon drawing of a man jumping into a bowl of hearts from Kurt Russel, and a sketch of a pig dressed as a chef from Robert Stack, both of which have yet to receive bids in the early days of the sale.
Charity auctions such as this one provide a great opportunity for collectors to get their hands on a piece of autographed celebrity memorabilia at a superb price, while donating funds to a good cause.
