Herge's plan for a fresco made $1m in Spink and Artcurial's Hong Kong comic and street art sale on October 3.

That's a new artist record for a post war work by Herge.
The piece dates to 1979 and was intended for the main staircase of the Cultural Center of Wallonie-Bruxelles in Paris.
A spokesperson for Artcurial commented: "The result of the fresco by Herge confirmed the popularity of Tintin in China.
"…the results were very encouraging and gives us some insight on what we shall bring next time."
