Hawaiian posters to be sold at New York auction

This Wednesday August 5, 2009, six vintage Hawaiian tourism posters are to be auctioned in New York

There are reproductions of the posters sold in some shops - but only the first print originals are coveted by collectors.

The posters have been verified, with each estimated to sell at $600-1,000.

Each poster refers to an airline - including three for United Air Lines and three each for TWA, Matson Lines and Pan American.

The artists' names appear on some of the works - including John Atherton, Stanley Walter Galli and David Klein - but none are signed by hand.
