Bonhams' forthcoming 20th Century Decorative Arts auction is to star a number of fascinating items, including a striking Dandelion sculpture by Italian-born artist Harry Bertoia (1915-1978).
The circa 1966 work carries a $100,000-150,000 estimate ahead of the April 3 sale, though comparable pieces by Bertoia have brought substantially more in recent sales.

A circa 1961 dandelion sculpture by the artist sold for $566,500 at Christie's on March 8, suggesting there is a ready market for works by Bertoia.
Pieces by other popular names are also to grace the block in Los Angeles. Furniture by Gustav Stickley, glassware by both Tiffany Studios and Lalique, Meissen porcelain and Hans Werger designs are all sure to set collectors' hearts racing.
Currently, the decorative arts market is performing solidly. Following the recent sale of an Albert Teco vase, auctioneer David Rago commented: "The market has been coming back steadily since the thin days of 2009."
