Pissed, a playful artwork by British duo Gilbert & George (Gilbert Prousch and George Passmore), is expected to lead Christie's Post War and Contemporary Art auction in London on April 17.
Pissed presents six enlarged, hand-coloured microscopic images of urine, overlaid with a naked, stumbling George, held up by an ever-dapper Gilbert. Estimated to be worth £100,000-150,000 ($152,100-228,150), Pissed belongs to the Fundamental Pictures series of 1996.

Fundamental Pictures' no nonsense titles (Shit, Piss, Spunk, Spit, Blood and Tears) might be understood as an attempt to reduce the human condition to a number of biological impulses and excretions.
In May 2004, another intoxicant-inspired Gilbert & George work, 1974's A Drinking Sculpture, sold at Phillips de Pury for $400,000, suggesting there is a ready market for works by the pair.
