A Christie's charity auction, The Green Auction: A Bid to Save the Earth, has raised $1,387,000 to benefit four environmental organizations: Conservation International, Oceana, Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and The Central Park Conservancy.
The live auction celebrates the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day and has a companion silent auction hosted by Charitybuzz that runs through May 6.
The top lot, All You Need is Jealousy by Damien Hirst, sold for $92,000.
"Christie's is honoured to play its part in celebrating the 40th Anniversary of Earth Day with such engaged and inspiring leaders from the worlds of culture, finance, fashion, philanthropy and conservation," said Edward Dolman, CEO of Christie's.
Hosted by Susan and David Rockefeller, the auction was led by Christopher Burge, Honorary Chairman of Christie's, along with Chevy Chase, Master of Ceremonies.
The star-studded event included guests such as Salma Hayek, Sam Waterston, Ted Danson, Candice Bergen, Brian Williams, John McEnroe, Elettra Wiedemann, James Lipton and Willie Garson.
