An oil on canvas by Dame Laura Knight (British, 1877-1970) will feature in an auction at DuMouchelles on February 12-14.
The work will sell alongside more than 1,500 lots of fine art, antiques and vintage collectibles in the Detroit sale.
Knight's oil on canvas, titled Sennen Cove, Cornwall, England, depicts a view of the eponymous seaside village.
The work measures 16 x 20 inches, and will carry an estimate of $20,000-40,000.
It boasts a notable provenance, having one featured in the collection of Monsignor Edward J Hickey, one of Detroit's prominent Catholic pastors.
In the past, Dame Laura Knight artworks have proven a sound investment for collectors.
A watercolour by Knight, Wind and Sun, sold at Sotheby's in July 2009. It went for four-and-a-half times its estimate, realising 914,850.
This was 14 times the 66,000 it previously sold for in 1986.
Elsewhere in the DuMouchelles auction is an art deco bronze clock by Tiffany & Co. The early 1920s model number 360 clock, measuring 5 x 5 inches, has a $4,000-$6,000 estimate.
A Detroit Pistons NBA Championship ring and an "Official League" baseball autographed by Dizzy Dean, the renowned St Louis Cardinals Hall of Fame star pitcher, will also feature in the sale.
The auction will take place in Detroit.
