The inaugural Photo Shanghai event will take place on September 5-7 - the first dedicated international photography fair to be held in China.

Organised by Alexander Montague-Sparey, Christie's former head of photography in London, the event will offer buyers in the region access to some of the world's most high profile galleries.

In recent years, the Chinese art market has grown significantly, and after a correction in 2012, appears to have rebounded in 2013. Western auction houses have begun to take advantage of the relaxation of regulations, with Christie's opening their first outlet in Shanghai.
