A stunning piece of cover art for Batman Black and White #1 will see some of the highest bids in Heritage Auctions' August 7-9 Comics and Comic Art Signature Auction in Dallas.

Coming to auction direct from the collection of artist Jim Lee, the piece is the iconic cover to one of the best-loved Batman series ever produced.
Batman Black and White was a four-part limited series, published in 1996, bringing together different eight-page stories from Gotham.
Widely celebrated, IGN Comics listed it among the 25 greatest Batman graphic novels, while merchandise from the series remains some of the most popular among collectors.
The cover art, drawn by Jim Lee and inked by Scott Williams, remains in excellent condition.

Also starring in the sale is the first page art from the first appearance of the Guardians of the Galaxy, which formed part of 1969's Marvel Super-Heroes #18.
Drawn by Gene Colan and Mike Esposito, the piece is likely to sell very well, with the Guardians of the Galaxy movie release just around the corner.
One of the earliest known drawings of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, dating to before issue #1 was released in 1984, is expected to bring nostalgic bids from collectors.
The Kevin Eastman-penned artwork could see in excess of $70,000, with the first ever drawing of the Turtles making $71,700 in 2012.
