Barbara Hepworth's Cantate Domino headlines November 17 sale

Dame Barbara Hepworth's Cantate Domino realised £542,000 ($848,758) in Bonhams' Modern British and Irish art sale in London on November 17.

This is the first time the sculpture, numbered two of an edition of six, has been offered at auction.

The sale indicates the health of Hepburn's market, which has gone from strength to strength in recent years. Last year Figure in a Landscape set a new artist record when it sold for £4.1m ($7m) at Christie's London.
