Swann Auction Galleries' sale, The Bou Collection of Ocean Liner & Aviation Memorabilia and The Chase Collection of Ocean Liner Posters, takes place on March 4.
Among the auction's travel masterpieces are posters by AM Cassandre (the pseudonym of artist Adolphe Mouron, 1901-1968).

One such highlight is Cassandre's poster for the ocean liner company New Statendam's Holland-America line, from 1928.
Measuring 40 ½ x 31 inches, the framed work has repair tears and slight creases in the margins - but still carries a valuable estimate of $12,000-18,000.

Pre-sale exhibits will be held starting February 27, continuing until March 3 in New York.
Travel posters have long been sought-after by collectors and investors. Bloomsbury held an auction of vintage travel posters in November, last year, featuring works by the likes of Toulouse-Lautrec.
Elsewhere, Christie's auction of Ski Sale posters from the slopes took place last month.
