Bidding on a trial proof of Andy Warhol's Red Lenin starts at $55,000 in Christie's American Pastimes: Sports and Politics sale.

Red Lenin is one of a series Warhol produced that depict communist leaders

The auction is taking place online and will run between September 4-11.

The piece dates to 1987, the year Warhol died, and is numbered 53 of an edition of 120.

A unique print of Chairman Mao achieved £7.5m ($12.4m) at Sotheby's London earlier this year.
