The Delphinium Collection, a dazzling array of 18th century Meissen porcelain is to auction at Bonhams London on March 20. The collection includes a number of dramatically rare pieces that are sure to tantalise collectors internationally.

Although estimates are yet to be released, predicted highlights include a yellow-ground Augustus Rex vase, circa 1730-1735, a two handled jar complete with its original cover that dates from the late 1720s, and an octagonal teabowl and saucer, circa 1730.
Meissen dominated European porcelain manufacture well into the 18th century. Its trademark stamp, a pair of crossed swords that was introduced in 1730, is thought to be one of the oldest trademarks in existence.
