The collection consists of thousands of toys

The set consists of around 2,000, which will be sold individually with estimates of up to £5,000 ($7,539).

The whole collection is expected to make around £250,000 ($376,983).

The owner, Raymond Hainsworth, commented: "Part of me is sad of course, but we have had a lot of pleasure from it so I am not upset it is going."

Andrew Reed of Vectis commented: "It has been built up over the last 50 years and he has such passion for collecting the best of what he could find. It's so varied as well, from cars to trains to aeroplanes."

The sale follows on from a series of high profile auction at Vectis in recent weeks.
