On June 22 Sotheby’s Paris will offer a series of 11 Chinese jades from the collection of Mr and Mrs Djahanguir Riahi.
The pot is carved with a design based on a famous Chinese painting
The star looks set to be an exceptional green jade brush pot produced for the imperial court during the Kangxi/ Qianlong period (17th and 18th centuries).
The design is based on the The Five Old Men of Suiyang, a painting from Suiyang province showing a group of elderly men in a landscape.
It’s valued at $335,745-559,575.
