Aloysius O'Kelly painting achieves 360% increase on estimate

An Aloysius O'Kelly painting from 1905 was the star lot of Ahlers and Ogletree's Fabulous Fall Estates auction that took place on October 6.

The painting, which depicts a scene of maids carrying out housework, sold for $23,000 against an estimate of $3,000-5,000 - an increase of 360%.

An 18k gold President Rolex watch was another notable lot, achieving $7,750. It featured a diamond encrusted face, an emerald cut diamond bezel and a sapphire crystal window.

A diamond and onyx art deco makeup box made $6,000 against a $2,000-4,000 valuation.
