Great Britain 1883 ½d–1s “Lilac and Green” Unified Issue, SG187/196.
A very fine unused set of ten with original gum from the iconic 1883 "Lilac and Green" series, issued during the reign of Queen Victoria.
This complete set, ranging from ½d to 1s, is presented in excellent condition with strong colour and fresh appearance throughout. While one or two values show minor gum imperfections, the overall quality remains notably fresh and attractive.
A difficult set to assemble in this quality for a notoriously delicate issue.
A key cornerstone set in Victorian philately, highly sought-after for its uniform aesthetic and historical significance marking the transition to unified colour schemes in British postage.
Stanley Gibbons catalogue value: £3,000.
