Signed by King Charles III in 1981 on the news of Diana's pregnancy.
- A King Charles III handwritten and signed letter.
- Beautifully framed, and regarding Princess Diana's pregnancy with Prince William.
A King Charles III handwritten and signed letter dated November 15, 1981, 10 days after the Royal family announced Charles and Diana were expecting their first child.
On both sides of a single sheet of paper measuring 7 x 9.25 inches and bearing Charles' personal ‘H.R.H. The Prince of Wales’ letterhead.
Handwritten and signed by Charles in crisp black ink.
In very fine condition, with an exceptional example of Charles' signature.
The letter was written to Lady Marre, discussing funding for charitable projects and alludes to the recent announcement of Princess Diana's pregnancy with their first son Prince William. It reads in full:
“Thank you so much for your letter. 1) I would be willing for the fund to pay the full cost if you get an application for one of these vehicle conversions. I think it would be a good thing to do. 2) I like the idea of asking Donald Dempsey to suggest an organization in the north to supervise the mobile holiday home project if the fund pays for it. 3) I hope Michael Colborne has returned the recommendations to you. I'm afraid I have been swamped with paper and I can't keep up! 4) I think it would be splendid if the fund could provide money to buy necessary equipment for the M.S. research projects. This would probably be preferable to paying salaries. 5) Thank you so much for your kind congratulations. We are so thrilled.”
Matted with black cloth and housed in a regal double-sided frame, with a window in the reverse to display the letter’s second page and Charles' signature.
Overall size of the frame measures 14.25 x 16.5 inches.
A superb signed letter which would make a magnificent display piece for any Royal memorabilia collection.
