Indian Feudatory States Soruth 1948 'ONE ANNA' on 8a black and yellow-green Official, block of 8 (2x4) from lower right corner of sheet, R5-8/4-5 of the setting of 40, now severed into two blocks of 4 SGO17/a/b.
Showing the errors 'ANNE' (R5/4) and 'ANNN' (R7/5) and other positional printing varieties (R7/4 with prominent wrong fount second 'A' in 'ANNA'.
Very fine mint quality, mostly unmounted mint, other than faint traces of previous hinge on R7/4-5. Two of the normal stamps have minor imperfections barely worthy of note (R6/1 with ragged perforations at foot and insignificant tone speck on one perforation (R8/4) with slight crease.
Imperfectations mentioned purely for accuracy as, otherwise, exceptionally fresh, with the valuable printing errors in superb condition.
A wonderful exhibition piece of the highest rarity.
Accompanied with consecutive British Philatelic Association (BPA) certificates of authenticity (1992) for each block.
