GREAT BRITAIN 1969 1s6d British Cathedrals Error, SG801a
An exceptional and very fine unmounted mint, with full original gum, example of the 1s6d "Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral" stamp, featuring the rare error with the black (face value) completely omitted.
This striking error leaves the Queen’s profile and cathedral illustration intact but omits the denomination. This provides a dramatic visual difference when placed beside the normal stamp, which is included for comparison and display purposes.
According to Pierron, only 42 examples are recorded, and many of those suffer from staining or damage. This example is clean, bright, and of superior condition, making it a standout choice.
An iconic error of missing colour from the British architectural definitive series that highlights a printing oversight with major philatelic appeal.
