Great Britain 1967 1s Light Bluish Violet (2 Bands), SG742var – Imperforate Imprimaturs
A superb and scarce QEII definitive rarity.
A superb unmounted mint left-hand marginal vertical pair of the 1967 1s light bluish violet (with two phosphor bands), in imperforate imprimatur format. Each stamp bears a discreet “BPMA” handstamp on reverse, confirming official imprimatur status.
The margin features the sheet number “022850”.
A scarce QEII Machins imperforate pair from the first approved printing sheet.
Exceptional provenance as they were released from the British Postal Museum Archives in 2014. Prior to this they were stored in the museum archives in climate controlled vaults since being printed and are therefore in uncirculated mint condition.
