Salvador Dali is one of the best-known and most valuable of all 20th-century artists. He was a major figure in the development of Surrealism.Though best known for his paintings, Dali worked in film, photography and much more. His life was also something of a performance piece and he was a well-known public figure for much of his life. In contrast to his outlandish art work - full of dream imagery and deeply sexual and sensual - Dali supported conservative, Catholic politics causes, and his support for the Franco regime in Spain alienated him permanently from other avant garde artists, including his previous friend, Picasso.
Dali’s work is in museum collections around the world, and two institutions are devoted to his work. His best known works can go for millions, with Portrait de Paul Eluard selling for £13.5 million in 2011.
This is an extraordinary opportunity to own original, signed, dedicated work from one of the giant’s of 20th-century art.
