The embossed invitation measures approximately 5.25 by 7.25 inches and is in fine condition, accompanied by its original mailing envelope.
The gala took place at the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland on the evening of January 19, 1981 - the night before Reagan's inauguration.
The event was broadcast live on ABC as the 'All-Star Inaugural Gala'. It was a celebrity-packed TV special, produced by Frank Sinatra and hosted with Johnny Carson, with appearances from Bob Hope, Jimmy Stewart, Charlton Heston and the Beach Boys.
Reagan described the night as the moment his achievement of winning the Presidency finally "sunk in".
