Next year, on the 800th anniversary of Perth being made a royal burgh, there will be a special auction in its honour.
One of the pieces is likely to be of interest to any serious whisky collector: 2 brightly coloured iron barrows made by Barnard, Bishop and Barnard who were famous for their ornamental iron work.
It is believed that they were used by Perth's Dewars Cooperage.
"Judging by the design, we believe them to date from the second half of the 19th century.
"We believe they are still coated in their original paint as they are green and red which is consistent with the Victorian era." Auctioneer Nick Burns told The Courier.
John Dewar Snr founded the whisky company which bears his name in 1846. It has become one of the most successful whisky brands in the world. Barnard, Bishop and Barnard ran from 1826 to 1955.
Those with a related interest in cigars and tobaccomight also be interested in an 18th century Delft tobacco jar from famous Perth tobacconists Rattrays which will be available at the auction as well.
Other items for sale will include locally made Monart and Vasart glassware, made by the Ysart family, and pieces made of silver. There should be militaria connected to the Black Watch as well.
