Patek Philippe Annual Calendar offered at $24,000 in UK auction

A UK auction house is to offer a Patek Philippe Annual Calendar wristwatch as its top lot on October 15.

The auction will provide a range of mid-level examples from some of the world's most illustrious brands, with the Patek Philippe leading at £10,000-15,000 ($16,000-24,000). This estimate could offer a bargain for collectors, with other used examples of reference 5035G usually selling in excess of £15,000.

Patek Philippe ref 5035G
A classic design from the world's leading luxury watchmaker

The watch is an excellent example of Patek Philippe's classic designs, boasting a black dial with hourly applied Roman numerals. The watch is in nearly new condition, with the automatic movement functioning well and no scratches to the glass. Only a few light creases to the original black alligator strap hamper its otherwise superb condition. It will be sold complete with its box and accompanying papers.

Also from Patek Philippe is the Nautilus bracelet watch, reference 3800/1. A stainless steel variety, this example is expected to sell for £8,000-12,000 ($12,750-19,250). The condition of the piece is marred by scratches and dints to both the bracelet and case. A platinum example of the watch realised $35,643 in 2009 at Christie's.

Elsewhere, an 18k gold Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date watch from 1991 will sell with a £7,000-9,000 estimate ($11,250-14,500). The elaborate men's watch features hourly applied diamond markers as well as a diamond set bezel and shoulders.
