The US auctioneer SoldUSA's current online auction of rare medals and militaria is set to finish between January 23-24.
Described by its organisers as "the largest militaria auction to come to market in the last five years," the sale features a number of coveted items estimated to sell for five figures.
As we reported last month, a scarce group of three distinguished medals given to the ace World War One German pilot Adolf Ritter von Tutschek is selling valued at $30,000-65,000.

Unique militaria items like an extremely rare Colt third model shoulder stock provision Dragoon pistol, made in 1858, will also be among the highlights, estimated at $4,500-16,000.
The sale also features a selection of German Second World War memorabilia.
Among its highlights is an original WW2 German Original Kriegsmarine Uboat Badge, which bears a diamond Swastika featuring nine genuine rose-cut diamonds and silver.
The piece is in excellent condition, and rarely appears at auction |
This very rare, low production badge was made by "Schwerin, Berlin 68", and is marked as such on its reverse.
The diamond Swastika itself is a separate piece, applied to a 'base' Swastika clutched in an eagle's claws.
According to SoldUSA, this rarely offered original piece is in excellent condition - a scarce and fascinating document of the most notorious military regime of the 20th century.
The badge is auctioning with an estimate of $25,000-50,000.
Bids from interested museum institutes are also encouraged. More information can be found on the SoldUSA website, or watch this space for further news.
