Heritage is holding an auction of fine timepieces today and tomorrow in their home city of Dallas, Texas, alongside their collectible jewellery sale.
The sale is led by two watches from Patek Phillipe: a 2004 Ref. 3970E perpetual calendar wristwatch with chronograph, moon phase, leap year & 24 hour indication, and a rare Patek Philippe & Cie gold trip minute repeater, two train tandem wind pocket watch.

The wristwatch is 18K yellow gold case with round push-buttons, a satin silver dial and gold indexes. It is estimated at $95,000 - $110,000.
The pocket watch, from 100 years earlier (circa 1904) is also 18k yellow gold and has a plain back with three raised applied initials of the original owner, plus an inner gold cuvette. The dial is of white enamel, with Breguet numerals, subsidiary seconds, black minute track and gold Louis XV hands.
The piece, expected to sell for $35,000-45,000, utilises a complex 'trip' mechanism which allows the chiming function to be repeated several times before the spring needs to be re-wound.
A less expensive piece, but one which will surely fascinate any watch collector is an Henri Berthoud important gold United States Heroism Presentation Watch.

The watch, dated to circa 1880, would have been intended to be given to mark an act of heroism, but remains undedicated. The front of the closed case is centred by a black champleve enamel shipwreck life saving scene, whilst the back is centred by a red and black Seal of the United States of America.
The watch, which carries a guide price of $25,000-30,000, has a split-second chronograph, in honour of the intended owner's actions which required split second timing.
