Last night's MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles proved an emotional night for many of those involved.
There was regret from Kanye West over his actions at last year's event when he famously interrupted Taylor Swift, who was up to receive an award. Kanye took to the stage last year to declare that "I'm really happy for you and I'm gonna let you finish but Beyonce had one of the best videos of all time."

For Swift forgiveness was in the air, with the unveiling of her new West inspired ballad "Innocent" debuted at the awards show.
The night was one of unadulterated joy for Lady Gaga, the new pop icon of the 21st century who picked up an impressive 8 awards on the night.
Though much was made of the 8 awards victories, another interesting fact may have been missed. During the night's proceedings, Lady Gaga enjoyed an impressive three costume changes.
Although this may not mean a lot to some, in the world of collectible memorabilia, it's massive news.
After all, the market for dresses and costumes worn by iconic pop stars is thriving.
The iconic black leather jacket worn by Michael Jackson during his 1989 Bad World tour sold for £135,000 in November 2009. The figure was over 20 times the estimated price.
Though Lady Gaga may not have reached the same level of stardom as the King of Pop, she's already amassed a huge fan base in a short amount of time.
To date, she has sold more than 15 million albums and 51 million singles worldwide in just two years.
These sales figures put her ahead of even Madonna at that point in her career and certainly demonstrate the potential growth of an investment.

Currently, stage-worn clothing from Madonna remains some of the hottest property in memorabilia.
Back in 1993 Madonna embarked on The Girlie Show World Tour. The show offered up her classic pop hits alongside unique sexualised costumes and choreography.
This era of Madonna's career clearly had a profound influence on the work of Lady Gaga and today costumes worn by the Queen of Pop back in 1993 are available for £15,000 ($23,035).
The good news for prospective memorabilia collectors is that the entry level investment required for a Lady Gaga costume is relatively low.
In February 2010, a stage costume worn by Lady Gaga sold for £1,300 ($2,000). Following a long term holding period this piece could reach the similar prices enjoyed by Madonna at auction.
Alternatively, for those collectors seeking a safer entry level investment into pop star costume memorabilia, a stage worn Elton John outfit is currently available for £4,950 ($7,600).
John has enjoyed over thirty years of success, meaning the value of this piece will not disappear overnight.
But for those willing to take more of a risk, Lady Gaga costumes and dresses could offer astonishing rewards.
After all, two of the outfits featured at Sunday's VMAs were designed by Georgio Armani and the late Alexander McQueen. Were they to come on the market today, demand would be high amongst fans and collectors alike.
And with Lady Gaga announcing the title of her next album "Born this Way" at Sundays' awards, the value of costume memorabilia may see a considerable rise very soon.
Just make sure you don't invest in any of her meat dresses. Especially if they are past their sell by date!
