A pair of Adolf Hitler’s boxer shorts were among the more unusual lots in Alexander Historical Auctions’ Summer Militaria sale last night.
These striped linen boxer shorts belonged to one of the most evil men in history
Hitler left the underwear in his suite at the Parkhotel Graz in Austria, where he stayed for a couple of nights in April 1938.
They bear his monogrammed initials to the right of the fly.
A buyer paid $5,500 for the lot, slightly above the $5,000 estimate.
This isn’t the first time Nazi underwear has sold at auction. A pair of Eva Braun’s knickers realised £2,900 ($3,617) at Philip Serrel Auctioneers last year.
