Formula 1 champions-signed helmet will sell for charity

A helmet signed by 22 Formula 1 champions will be sold for charity at RM Sotheby's Monaco auction.

The lot is valued at $11,580-17,370 ahead of the May 14 sale.

F1 Champions Helmet
Autoweek writer Al Pierce collected the autographs between 2007 and 2010

The signatures were collected by Autoweek writer Al Pearce between 2007 and 2010.

Pearce has previously collected signatures from champions of the Daytona 500 and the Indy 500. The latter realised around $25,000 for charity.

This helmet is likely to sell for substantially more due to F1's higher global profile. It includes signatures from great names such as Michael Schumacher, Jackie Stewart and Mario Andretti.

We have this phenomenal autograph from Scottish champion Jim Clark for sale.
