On December 6 in Beverly Hills, Julien's Auctions will offer Don Newcombe's Brooklyn Dodgers jersey at the top of its Icons & Idols 2013: Sports auction.

The jersey is a game-worn example from 1957 - the final year that the Dodgers played in Brooklyn - and is expected to sell for $60,000-70,000.
Don Newcombe (b. 1926) is a former starting pitcher who played for the Dodgers between 1949-1951 and 1954-1958. He is the only player to have won the Rookie of the Year, Most Valuable Player and Cy Young awards during his career, as well as the first black pitcher to start a World Series game.
The jersey itself is marked with Newcombe's number 36, as well as "Newcombe 57" stitched into the front tail. It is in fantastic condition, but has had two slight repairs to holes that were created during a game.
Following is a complete suite of four screenprints of Muhammad Ali by Steve Kaufman (1961-2010), entitled The Greatest Series. Kaufman, who served as Andy Warhol's assistant, renders the icon with his fists raised, with his fight records and chronology at either side.

The suite is a test proof edition, with just 25 examples created, compared with the regular edition of 99. Produced in 1995, Ali has signed each of the prints, warranting the $17,000-20,000 estimate.
Muhammad Ali memorabilia features heavily in the sale, with am Ali-signed 1960 Olympic torch in a shadowbox display with other items from the 1960 Games expected to sell for $15,000-20,000. A cast of his fists with a handwritten note is likely to make between $8,000 and $10,000.
