We've already reported on some of the highlights in Regency Superior's upcoming space and aviation sale, which takes place on October 1-3, including a 1977-84 Olran-D cosmonaut's spacesuit priced at $50,000.
Also for sale in the auction is a NASA-issued colour litho autographed in black sharpie by the late astronaut Sharon Christa McAuliffe.
The teacher-in-space was killed aboard the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster when the shuttle broke apart 73 seconds after the launch of its tenth mission on January 28, 1986.
Described in the lot notes as "attractive and scarce," the 8"x10" signed by the teacher-in-space carries a pre-auction estimate of $2,500-3,500. Bids are opening at $2,300.
Also going under the hammer is a pink 8"x5½" page printed on both sides: pages 10-13 and 10-14 of Apollo 17's lunar flown checklist signed by Eugene Cernan - aka "The Last Man on the Moon."
Next to the Moonwalker's autograph is an additional "Landed on the Moon" handstamp to confirm the sheets' provenance.
According to Regency Superior, the document deals with emergency launch storage before the astronauts' third EVA (Extra Vehicular Activity, outside of the space craft).
Included in the lot is a one-page authentication photograph depicting Cernan holding the full checklist, with text below noting page numbers for sale (pictured above).
The Apollo 17 checklist is also estimate at $2,500-3,500. Bids are opening at $2,000.
