Who is the most collectible monarch?

We asked you: "Which monarch's artefacts would you most like to own?"

The answer was a resounding victory for Henry VIII.

·         Henry VIII 27%

·         Elizabeth I 17%

·         Charles I 11%

The result is a testament to the enduring fascination with Henry - whether it's his six wives, his break from the Catholic Church, or the really important stuff, i.e: the ongoing debate on whether he did actually compose Greensleeves. (He didn't).

Collectors with an eye on selling for a profit in the future will also be interested to see the popularity for Henry's daughter Elizabeth I, who presided over the country during the Spanish Armada.

Charles I remains, for now, the only British monarch to be executed. His demise brought in 11 years of interregnum in the country, spearheaded by Oliver Cromwell.
