Tete-beche Ceres pair cover will lead transatlantic auction

A cover displaying a tete-beche pair of 1849 one franc Ceres stamps is to auction at Robert A Siegel.

It was sent from Paris to New York in 1853 and is set to provide the highlight of the Steven Walske Collection of US-France Transatlantic Mail sale on May 29 with an estimate of $50,000-70,000.

An 1865 New Orleans cover headlined the first half of the sale in March this year, achieving $62,500.
