A new set of Monkey stamps celebrating the end of the one child policy are taking China by storm.
|
The issue was released earlier this week, ahead of Chinese New Year on February 8 (2016 is the year of the monkey in Chinese culture).
The stamp depicts a monkey with two babies, in reference to the end of China's decades-long policy.
Collectors and non-collectors alike are reportedly queuing up outside post offices to get their hands on the stamps, mirroring the enthusiasm for the famous 1980 Golden Monkey stamps - which regularly achieve major sums at auction.
