1851-1856 issue one cent stamps to highlight Natalee Grace Collection
Part one of the Natalee Grace sale will be highlighted by stamps from the 1851-1856 issue on June 7
The first part of the Natalee Grace Collection of the United Stamps will be highlighted by a selection of one cent stamps from the coveted 1851-1856 issue.
The Natalee Grace Collection is renowned as one of the finest extant collections of used stamps of the United States. The first part of this landmark sale will span US postal history from 1847-1875 on June 7 in New York. The top lot from the 1851-1856 section will be an extremely fine one cent stamp, which is considered the finest off-cover single of its kind in existence. One of only a few sound examples, the stamp benefits from its position at 7R1E;the only one of 1,000 positions used to print the one cent stamp that shows the complete design. The importance placed on the outer design by philatelists has seen the worth of those that have been carefully cut apart significantly increased. The value is further accelerated by a Richmond, VA circular date stamp, which manages to leave all elements of the fantastic design clearly visible. This lot provides a magnificent example of one of the rarest imperforate US stamps, and an unrivalled addition to any discerning collection at $200,000-300,000. The section will feature 12 other excellent examples of the 1851-1856 one cent stamp of varying quality and pre-sale estimates. You can find more news from this important sale here.
