"12-12-12", the Hurricane Sandy relief concert, saw scenes reminiscent of Live Aid in a dazzling show that will undoubtedly go down in music history, and now signed items from the stars that performed are being auctioned to raise more funds for those affected.

The auction is already underway online and will close on December 20.

Sir Paul was the star of the show in his new role as Nirvana frontman

Perhaps the most exciting lot featured in the sale is a Fender bass guitar, which has been signed by Sir Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Roger Daltrey, Billy Joel, Dave Grohl, Chris Martin, Michael Stipe and Eric Clapton among others. It is estimated to sell for $50,000.

The bass is just one of a number of instruments in the sale, each of which shares the $50,000 valuation and features a myriad of signatures.

Another highlight are the drumsticks Dave Grohl used in his Nirvana reunion performance, with Paul McCartney as frontman. Autographed by the Foo Fighters singer himself, they are expected to sell for $20,000.

President Bill Clinton has donated his own saxophone, which has been signed and "personalised" by the president. His daughter, Chelsea Clinton, took part in the telethon held on the night of the concert and money from this sale will go to the Robin Hood Foundation, which aims to end poverty in New York. The saxophone will be sold in the region of $15,000.
